Conor McGregor Drops Ceremonial Puck, Gives Pep Talk Prior to Boston Bruins Game

Conor
McGregor
has experienced some memorable moments during his rise
to UFC stardom while competing in Boston’s TD Garden. On Saturday,
he returned to the venue to witness a hockey game between the NHL’s
Boston Bruins and Columbus Blue Jackets.

The “Notorious” one was more than just a spectator, however. On
Irish Heritage Night, the former two-division champion did the
ceremonial puck drop, walking out to his trademark “Foggy
Dew”/”Hypnotize” entrance to draw a roar from the crowd.

McGregor also gave a pre-game pep talk in the Bruins locker room
prior to the game.

“I am undefeated in this building, I am unbeaten in Boston, just
like the Bostonians themselves — that’s what I told the team in
there,” McGregor told NESN during the first-period intermission.
“That’s what I said when I walked in there. I said, ‘Are you’s
ready for war? When I say Boston, you say strong. Boston Strong!
Boston Strong!’ They all rose up with that energy, and I look
forward to seeing that transfer onto the [ice].”

Incidentally, the Bruins defeated the Blue Jackets 2-1 in
overtime.

McGregor first appeared in Boston at UFC Fight Night 29 on August
17, 2013, when he defeated Max
Holloway
via unanimous decision. The SBG Ireland representative
returned to TD Garden in January 2015 to score a second-round TKO
of Dennis
Siver
.

Last week, McGregor was
arrested
d on charges of strong-arm robbery and criminal
mischief after allegedly stealing and destroying a fan’s phone
outside a Miami nightclub.
